If there were not,
would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back again and take you to myself,
so that where I am you also may be.
Where I am going you know the way.”
Thomas said to him,
“Master, we do not know where you are going;
how can we know the way?”

Welcome to my blog... Feel free to look around...

For several months, I had been thinking about how I could use my gifts in a positive way, to reach out to people who might need what I could share. From time to time, I would send out an email with a Gospel reflection, or some helpful information about an issue or an event, but I really didn't want to junk up people's in-boxes again and again.

Some people said I should blog... but I always thought, "Not me. I don't really have the time. What would I say, anyway??"

Well... I think I am called to do this, after all. I see my gifts of sharing my faith, praying, inspiring and encouraging others, researching and ordering facts and ideas, creating, and writing, as the perfect ingredients for this blog. I have named it after the song You are Mine, by David Haas. God says, "Do not be afraid, I am with you... I have called you each by name... Come and follow me... I will bring you home... I love you and you are mine."

So, I have created this site to be both uplifting and informative... including links & information about Faith, American History, Current Events, Politics and Simple Living.

I welcome readers of all faiths. Since I am Catholic, in my section on Faith, I will include links & information about the Catholic Faith, in particular. I hope this will be helpful to Catholics and non-Catholics alike. My Catholic Faith is a big part of who I am. The Faith portion of my site will also include prayers, Bible Readings of the Day, spiritual reflections, and recommended reading.

American History will include information about the U.S. Constitution, our Founding Fathers, and recommended reading.

Current Events will link to the news of the day.

Politics will link to my favorite sites for political news and commentary, and will contain links & information about Constitutionally conservative issues & candidates.

And finally, Simple Living will link to information you may need to create a warm and restful home and a self-reliant lifestyle... things to help you and your family to live simply.

Why I Started this Blog...

Reprinted, in part, from a letter I sent out not long ago...

For a very long time, I was asleep. But now I am wide awake. America is in real trouble.

I consider myself blessed to live in America. But America has been changing.

I long for the original America... the America that supported the God-given rights of the individual... and the protection of those rights to life, liberty and property... An America with a strictly limited Constitutional government... with God as her guide, and a belief in a moral citizenry who in return expected a moral, but necessarily limited, governing body... before the corruption, and the special interests, and the bailouts, and the reckless spending... An America where her representatives considered it unthinkable and immoral to pass on a debt to the next generation, let alone as far into the future as you can imagine... An America where you had the right to keep what you earned, and you decided how much and to whom you would give it away.

We need to get back to that America. Where the rule of law trumps the rule of men. Or we will lose her forever.

Our federal government is off the rails, ruling without consent of the people they supposedly represent. Life as we know it in America is rapidly changing.

Our liberty is at stake. Our nation is being "fundamentally transformed" from a free market system to a command & control system, with forced redistribution of the wealth as the goal of an ever-emerging ruling class. In addition to more and more progressive taxation, the government controls the car companies, the banks, more and more land, soon the student loan industry and the healthcare industry, just for starters. Who would have thought that America would ever have a Pay Czar? The government continues to seize millions of acres of land in America, most of it abundant in natural resources. Do you ever ask yourselves why??

And all the while, the president is mocking us... making fun of the fact that many of us feel our liberties are being taken away, which they are. What kind of president repeatedly mocks the fears of his fellow countrymen?? Do you mock people repeatedly??

Many of you may be feeling downhearted or worried. I know many of you are praying. That is the best thing.

Just remember... you are not alone. I hope that through this site, you will be strengthened and uplifted. God created this great nation, abundant in splendor and natural resources to sustain us, that we would remain free. America belongs to Him. I know that whatever happens, He sustains me always.

May the Peace of Christ always be in your hearts and in your homes. With love ~ Cheryl
