Today's events unfolding...
I bumped into a gentleman recently, who said he reads my blog but wonders why I haven't been posting any of my own writing lately... just the Funny Guy stories.
I told him that since starting my homeschooling adventure last year, my time has been spent elsewhere, but he could check my sidebar for all of my favorite links and he would see where I go for my news and information.
Then, I told him that he could really just go back and re-read everything I wrote about a year or more ago, and it's all the same stuff. Only now, it's all coming true.
This week, we are watching the continued emergence of the Muslim Brotherhood as the violent Islamo-radicals that they are, not the refreshing new day of the democratic Arab Spring that the president and his media have painted them to be.
We are watching in horror as terrorists attack our embassies in the Middle East on the anniversary of September 11, murdering our ambassador to Libya and several of our servicemen. Not because of some youtube clip, by the way. These attacks were orchestrated and required intel to find the safe house where the ambassador would be.
We have witnessed the destruction of the American flag on the sovereign soil of our embassies and its replacement with the Islamists' flag.
And Barack Obama appears at best completely disinterested. First apologizing for "religious insensitivity" toward these terrorists who have attacked and killed Americans, reading dispassionately from his prepared statement, before winging off to Las Vegas for a Democratic fundraiser.
And we stand by and watch the repeated and most recent disrespect of Benjamin Netanyahu by President Obama. After all… Beyonce and Letterman await.
And now today, the Fed announced it will further monetize our debt. Further devaluing our dollar.

Are you still on the fence about Romney vs. Obama?
In the presidential primary, Mitt Romney was not my first choice, as I am a Constitutional conservative, and I view him as another progressive player in the Republican establishment.
But… at least Romney is not a Constitution-trampling, America-loathing, capitalism-hating, culture-destroying, religious-freedom-tamping, redistribute-the-wealth Marxist revolutionary statist.
Okay, so SCOTUS ruled that Obamacare remains the law of the land.
Romney has pledged to repeal it.
The only positive thing about this ruling is this: It has stirred up the base. The voters are beyond angry.
Further, once again, the progressives are naked. John Roberts is a progressive, appointed by a progressive. As much as I liked George W. Bush personally, he was a big-government progressive. And more and more the voters will understand the genesis of today's Supreme Court decision forcing us to buy a product or pay a "tax," and they will grow to understand the destructive, freedom-robbing cancer behind it… Progressivism.
And the more the sunlight bathes these people, the more the voters won't like what they are peddling, and have been peddling for nearly a century. Freedom loving American patriots will prevail and eventually will stop putting up progressives.
The paradigm has shifted. It isn't Republican versus Democrat anymore.
It's freedom vs. statism.
This November, as we look to replace Obama, the alternative may not be perfect, but the choice is perfectly clear.

SCOTUS upholds Obamacare… Constitution: Rest in peace...
It's too early to find any details yet. But what a huge defeat for freedom. Now the state can force you to buy anything it wants you to. And the Supremes can twist it and declare it Constitutional.
I have no words except my usual God has a plan. I trust Him.

Shedding light on America's Shadow Party...
About two decades ago, in the wake of the Republican gains of the 1994 midterm elections (when the voters ironically and overwhelmingly rose up against socialized health care), George Soros got an idea. An awful idea. Soros got a wonderful, awful idea.
He began quietly working to convince Congress that Americans were clamouring for campaign finance reform. By 2002, Soros had poured millions of dollars into the passing of McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform, apparently cutting off the vital so-called soft money contributions to the Democrat party. But why would he do that? Hmm.
Soros then set up a vast web of private political action organizations (527 committees) in order to launder money back to the Democrat party without limit, a power allowed under the new law. A law that he knew intimately.
Soros's vision of the Democrat party was more radicalized and leftward lurching than ever before. And Soros controlled the purse strings, of course.
This "privatized" Democrat party is what has become known as the Shadow Democrat Party, or Shadow Party.
Hillary Clinton and Harold Ickes helped found the Shadow Party and are key players as well. At the heart of the Shadow Party is a think tank called the Center for American Progress. They have called the shots on every policy decision coming from this administration.
Some say this Shadow Party is the Clinton White House in exile. Does anybody remember when the newly-elected President Obama set up his cabinet? I remember thinking that for all of the new-tone, fresh, hopey-changey promises, Obama sure was recycling the same old stale Clinton power brokers. By design. But whose exactly?

And make no mistake. Their goal is the ruination of America. The collapse of the free market. Global government. The supremacy of the state over God and over the freedom of individuals.

When Soros targets a country for "regime change," he begins by creating a shadow government... "a soup-to-nuts government-in-exile, ready to assume power when the opportunity arises." And one will arise. They have come too far, and invested too much. First, manufacture a crisis, and then claim to be the ones who can solve it. (See top down, bottom up, inside out.)
Soros has said that he "could do a lot more about the issues I care about by changing the government than by pushing the issues." Soros also said he wants to “puncture the bubble of American supremacy.” To accomplish this, he has created a political apparatus of extraordinary influence.
Soros's American Shadow Party greatly resembles those he has created in other countries, prior to instigating a coup. In the meantime, Obama, who apparently loves the feel of Soros's hand up his back, will suffice to do Soros's bidding. Click here to see how Obama's and Soros's ideology is the same.
This whole plan has been playing out for the last twenty years or so. Yes, progressives are very patient. They have been busy ramping up their actions, and their web now is vaster than ever.And make no mistake. Their goal is the ruination of America. The collapse of the free market. Global government. The supremacy of the state over God and over the freedom of individuals.
I know this is a lot to read and process, but every American should know what is really going on.

Obama's new campaign propaganda film… Now where have I heard this before...
President Obama's new campaign propaganda film, "The Road We Have Traveled," sounds an awful lot like a little book that was written in 1942 by Fabian Socialist and eugenicist Stuart Chase, called, The Road We are Traveling. I blogged about it more than a year ago here and here.
Chase laid out the blueprint decades ago for the fundamental transformation of our republic, and our president and his progressive allies have been seeing it through to completion.

Make no mistake: President Obama touts these changes as a good thing for America. Elimination of free enterprise. The rise of the state. All under the noses of a mostly unsuspecting electorate. Anyone who doesn't know history, that is.
Wake up America. Time is running out.

Daniel Hannan speaks… "We still hold these truths…"
Too bad this guy is British and can't run for office here.
If only we had a more representatives with this kind of clarity and humble and abiding affection for our institutions.
This is a must-see speech, by Daniel Hannan, member, British Parliament. He loves his homeland, England, but she is careening off the cliff of European socialism, having forfeited her national sovereignty and birthright to an unelected distant bureaucracy. And he says he is saddened when he looks in his rear-view mirror, and sees America with her foot on the pedal, trying to overtake him.
We still hold these truths to be self-evident… that all men are created equal…that they are endowed by their Creator… with certain unalienable rights… that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
This next election, what will it be? Restoring our Constitutional republic, reducing the size and scope of government, states' rights, and greater freedom for each citizen? Or will we choose the ever-growing Europeanization of America, greater reduction of her citizens, and the rise of the State?

Looking back… Looking ahead...
So, here we are at the start of a new year. Naturally, I've been looking at the year in review, and noticing some big changes.
If you have followed this blog since its beginning, you probably have noticed that I used to post many more political/current events stories than I do now. It isn't that I don't care anymore. It's just that nothing ever seems to change. And when it does, it doesn't last.
Take the Tea Party victory, for instance. What a disappointment how the Republican leadership repeatedly squandered the mandate for restoration... both by their votes and by their voices. And shame on the media for being complicit in the fundamental transformation of our Republic. Historians will have a field day. Someday.
In the meantime, if you are looking for political commentary, you can go back into my archives. It's all there. I sounded the alarm for a year and a half. And my sidebar still offers a wealth of information and useful links.
People ask me who I like in the field of Republicans. My answer is whoever runs against Barack Obama. It's not tricky really. Four more years of this, and America will cease to exist as we know her. She's different already.
I guess for the primary election, for me, it will come down to who is the least statist of all of the statists. And who truly recognizes the threats to America, both foreign and domestic. Show me a true, small-government, protect our borders, constitutional conservative, and he will get my vote. Doesn't America deserve civic leaders who will ensure freedom, and who won't spend and regulate her to death?
Enough about politics.
On a personal note, so much has changed for me. Of course the passing of Mark's dad has left a gaping hole in our family. Time and hope are what help there.
Sweeping across the year… by the end of last school year, we had decided to withdraw from institutional education and teach our kids at home.
Best. Decision. Ever.
They genuinely enjoy their days and each other. God is present all day long. Our family has a freedom we had never enjoyed before. Our daily rhythms are natural. The kids play outside. And they are learning.
Teaching them has been a big challenge for me, as I have a tenth grader, a sixth grader and a second grader, all with different learning styles and at different stages… all at the same time. Very difficult for me, as order does not come naturally. But I am very happy. And I thank God for each new day. Plus, I have a lot of support from my homeschooling, and non-homeschooling friends. I thank God for that, too. Mark is still skeptical, but he'll see the fruits soon enough. Onward I go.
In the fall, I attended my 30th high school reunion. The time period that followed that night took me by surprise. I went through a bit of spiritual upheaval. Mostly involving forgiveness and letting go of my pride. Thank you Lord for my time with you in Adoration to really take a long look at my heart.
I have often said that I prefer the woman I have become to the young girl I left behind. A girl who was mostly self conscious, insecure and somewhat detached. But I faced that girl from graduation day and finally embraced her. A girl that I had considered silly and fearful, always telling her, You should have been more confident.
I have realized that she had protected me on many occasions. And she was mostly kind. And she loved God and her family. That's still me. It may sound silly, but I thanked her. And I told her that she did good. For the first time ever, I told her she did good.
Subsequently, I opened up a Facebook page. For years, I had told myself I didn't need to stay connected, but I was wrong. I like to reach out. I like to share little nuggets for the day. I like to see other people lifting each other up. I still hesitate a little when "friending" others, for fear of intruding in their lives without having been invited. A remnant of the teenage me, I guess.
Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, came and went, carrying with them so many blessings. And now we are at the start of a brand new year.
My word for this year is order. This year, I will try to establish order in my days… in our schooling, in our home, and in my prayer life. This is the Lord's house, too. A calm lake reflects the sun. Calmer days for us will reflect the Son.
Blessings to you in the new year. May the peace of Christ be always in your hearts and in your homes.

Veterans Day... Roses in November...
While the unseen banner of winter's bane

Kissed the morrow.
This is a picture I took while at the library yesterday. The roses were gorgeous... Hundreds of them in full bloom... Set against the fall colors and the promise of winter. With the flag at half-staff, I couldn't resist capturing the moment.
Traditionally, as a symbol of respect, mourning or distress, flags are flown at half-staff to leave room at the top of the flagpole for death's invisible flag.

Feds buying up land they flooded...
I've been warning about this for a year and a half. Beware of the federal land grab.
The federal government has been gobbling up the American heartland, rich in natural resources.
If you don't read Romantic Poet regularly, it is time to start. See this article about how in May, the Army Corps of Engineers blew a Mississippi River levy and flooded precious Missouri farmland, destroying property and crops, only to now offer to buy it from desperate landowners.
Evil.
What is the president's new rural council for? Have you read about Agenda 21? It's in my sidebar. It is the stuff of nightmares. Control the farms (grain). Control the food. Control the people. Stalin did it.
Do you realize what they did? They disregarded private landowners' property rights, in order to carry out the goals of the State. What happened to those farmers' pursuit of happiness?

Don't you worry your pretty little head about the National Debt...
Okay... this guy is really getting on my nerves. He really does think we little people, the collective, are stupid.
President Obama said in a press conference yesterday: "Let, let me distinguish between professional politicians and the public at large. The public is not paying close attention to how a treasury auction goes. They shouldn’t, they’re worrying about their families, they’re worrying about their jobs, they’re worrying about their neighborhood. They’ve got a lot of other things on their plate. We’re paid to worry about it."
So... We should just go about our business and let the "professional politicians" take care of everything. I think that is what got us into this mess in the first place.
And don't try to make us think that Social Security checks would be the first things to go. We "ordinary folks" are a wee bit smarter than you think. It reminds me of, "If you don't fund abortion, the active duty soldiers abroad won't get paid."
STOP SPENDING. NO MORE DEBT. CUT OUT THE FRIVOLOUS NONSENSE. STOP STEALING FROM US.
NO. MORE. I don't care how smart you think you are.

Obama the tyrant...
This article from American Thinker just about sums it up. Except for the "spellbinding orator" part. I was never taken in by him. And the part at the end about him being the realization of Martin Luther King's dream. If only the voters had examined the content of his character. He lies repeatedly, and is a Marxist revolutionary would-be dictator who cares nothing for the real America. Did I just write that out loud?
In the end, America is supposed to hate tyranny, right? In 2012, let's work toward reclaiming our Republic.

First, claim that American gun makers are responsible for most illicit guns in Mexico.
Then, have your own ATF make gun shop owners sell thousands of weapons to suspected Mexican bad guys. Read about Operation Fast and Furious here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. The guns have been linked to at least one dead American, and crimes within our borders, perpetrated by illegal aliens.
Now, what do you know. The president needs to crack down on the illegal flow of guns to Mexico, by imposing more restrictions on legitimate American gun sellers. By Executive Order of course. What a farce. What a hypocrite.
I've said it before... It's good to be king. WAKE UP PLEASE, AMERICA.

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs bans God...
The Constitution states that Americans have the right to exercise their faith freely... through the spoken word if they wish.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." First Amendment
The State cannot establish a national religion. But it cannot abolish religion either. Somebody needs to tell the Obama Administration, so they can tell the V.A.

The federal government said, "Sorry. No God allowed."
I say WE THE PEOPLE say different.
I suppose one could argue that technically Congress did not do this. The Executive Branch did.
Hmmm. More fundamental transformation. Render Congress irrelevant and rule by executive fiat. Who cares about separation of powers. Pay no attention to that pesky Constitution.
I suppose it is good to be king. It just isn't America.
